Titles are assigned OpenURL compliant permalinks and described following international standards for library classifications.

Our services for the online distribution of content include:

We work with US organizations CLOCKSS and Portico, long-term archives for digital content, to safeguard the digital texts present on Torrossa for the future. Preservation of texts in closed security silos and resulting guarantee of permanent access responds to requirements expected by libraries and institutions that ensure their readers will always be able to access the purchased content.

Accessibility

Torrossa's solid infrastructure is regularly updated with the latest technologies, ensuring its compliancy with market standards regarding security, accessibility and user experience.

We collaborate with the LIA Foundation (Libri Italiani Accessibili) for accessible Italian books, working with the common goal of providing publishers with tools to facilitate the production and distribution of texts and metadata, in line with the new European legislation on accessibility. Our platform is already accessible according to the guidelines on the accessibility of Web content WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Torrossa Reader

Torrossa distributes content both in PDF format, compatible with Adobe Acrobat Reader, and in ePub format, for which we have developed a dedicated reading solution based on Readium LCP technology.
The Torrossa Reader application, which may be downloaded at no cost from all major App stores, facilitates the consultation of digital texts in ePub, PDF and other formats.
The app allows users to create their own personal libraries, saving and accumulating texts purchased for personal use through Torrossa Bookstore alongside content downloaded through an institutional licence.
